Regular: S+Verb+ed+o/c

S+ didn’t +verb +o/c

 

I didn’t understand…

She didn’t buy

Did + S+ verb + o/c?

 

Did I understand?

Did she buy?

Did we listen….?

Irregular: verbs change in form ( memorize irregular verbs)

 

She bought ( buy)

He saw ( see)

She read (read)

Exception: to be (S+Was/were+not)

I/he/she/it was +not+ c

We you they were+ not

 

I wasn’t late

She wasn’t happy

We weren’t sleepy

Excetion ( to be)

Was/were+S+c?

2. Uses

A.  we use simple past when we talk about an action or state of being that started and finished in the past. Time is mentioned.

     Ex: Yesterday, I visited my grandparents.   

–       Last week, we watched a nice movie.

–       She was happy.

B. When we talk about a series of actions, one before the other that started and finished in the Past. time is mentioned

           Ex: This morning, I woke up at 7, took my breakfast, and got dressed.

           At 3 o’ clock, we covered the forms of simple past, revised the uses, and discussed the keywords.

C. When we talk about unreal events or things in the present or future. So we use it with the conditional N°2 and after words like ‘wish’.

 

    Ex: If I had Money, I would buy a car

    Ex: I wish I had a nice car.
